Robert Leichtle

Robert graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of South Carolina. He is a licensed CFB and served as an auditor with the Army Air Force Exchange Services. 

He joined BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina in 1972 as a senior supervisory auditor in the Medicare provider auditor department.  The same year, Robert was named the Corporate Comptroller. He became Vice President of Finance in 1980, and in 1983 he was named Senior Vice President, Senior Financial Officer and Treasurer. He retried from BCBSSC as Executive Vice President, Treasurer, and CFO in 2011. 

Currently, Robert serves on the Richland County Business Licensing Board of Appeals. He has been a member of the BCBS-SC Board of Directors since 2012.

He is a member of St. Joseph Church in Columbia.
